They said, 'We are afraid.'
'Come to the edge,' he said.
They came.
He pushed them...
And they flew."

11.19 The Bench 1 Year Anniversary Show!

Tons of fun! In a nutshell: So the day portion didn't go as planned. What mattered was... Paolo wrecked. He got the crowd more hype than any other performer that night, including headliners - the Lone Catalyts. Mack weathered the storm, totally worked the room and even joined in on the freestyle session. Crystal cut the bullshit & shined. Not too shabby for a first time MC. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her. Mike found his voice! *high five* SFC/YFC came out to support.

11.14 TALIB & JEAN GRAE!
Arguably the BEST show I've been to. (I'm rubbing it in, Paolo!). Talib...I've never seen an emcee rock a crowd the way he did. He did only the best cuts off all his albums...PLUS Black Star...PLUS his DangerDoom track. I was disappointed that Mos & Pharoache couldn't make it out, but Talib definitely brought me back. Those three dudes hooked me into hip-hop.
