Boys are easy. This is one of the tangible perks of being a girl. All you have to do is be A) a girl, B) smile, C)look cute and (Product) they do stuff for you. And that's the general formula. You don't have to be a manipulative trick ass ho about it. ..because that's just sheisty. And I don't like shiestiness. There's a difference, you see, however fine the line may be.

A girlfriend of mine and I utilized this tactic today, with successful results, at Whole Foods. ..Yes, the Mecca for cute tattooed/pierced boys, I'll reiterate. This one cute whiteboy with dreds and ear stretchies worked the cash register near the Jamba Juice at which I was waiting for my drink. I see him there all the time, so when I caught him looking my way, I looked back at him for a while and smiled. He smiled back and looked down quickly. When my friend had finished up her shopping, she met me up and we headed over to the art show guy, Gonzalo's, lane to check out and say hello. We smiled and chatted w/ him.

He gave us a 50% discount again, and the guy w/ the dreds followed us over there (halfway across the store) for no apparent reason other than to bag our stuff.

Short skirts, cleavage, and the "Blonde" act are all so passe' if not outright trick ho-ish (and we've already discussed my thoughts on such methods). We needn't resort to nastiness, girls. Success in these matters is guaranteed by the very virtue of us being female. No boy would ever front and tell you otherwise.

I rested my eyes today for a second and opened them 4 hours later. Trippy. I wish they were still closed b/c now I've gotta continue editing Dr. Burke's manuscript; my eyes are tired. Eh, but it's part of the job. I like the book a lot so far, though. I'd never come across a work that's tried to reconcile the "Melting Pot" theory of race relations in America w/ the "Salad Bowl" theory. Everything I've read's been pro either-or, while I stand w/ Dr. Burke on this. More later. I don't feel like explaining right now. Yup, go sit on the edge of your seat or something. Bye.
