"'Come to the edge,' he said.
They said, 'We are afraid.'
'Come to the edge,' he said.
They came.
He pushed them...
And they flew."

What's up with doods? Somebody answer me that. So we had a pretty good group going to see 4 Brothers, right. ...Jeremy & his wife (her name escapes me) included. That was all well and good, if it wasn't that the boy didn't so much as make eye contact with Paolo or me. He didn't acknowledge our greetings, goodbyes, and hovered near the outer fringes of our movie-watching group the entire night.

Pre-wedding, I'm invited to the ceremony. Post-wedding, he apparently isn't on speaking terms with Paolo or me. I somewhat resent even the tinge of awkwardness he brings to any social situation. You'd think that, with married life, comes maturity. Are the bygones by-gone or what?

Dunn's Housewarming. Congrats and all that stuff. It was a good time. X-box'ing & Filipino Food'ing & Starbucks'ing.

Oh, I think my dad wants to eat a Super Salad. I'll finish this later...

Hug your loved ones tight...for me.
So I saw a girl on bicycle get hit by a car today. It was terrible to watch, but thankfully, she came out of it alright. I was the first car in the turning lane of a busy 4-way intersection in Kingwood. She rolled right over a median that split 2-way traffic and absentmindedly didn't check the traffic coming toward her right. A car going 50 mph hit her full force, smashing into her side. It knocked her sideways, sending the bicycle flying and her crashing down onto the leg of impact. If the car hadn't slammed on its breaks, she would have been run over. However, the girl was able to hobble over toward the corner. The driver jumped out of the car and hugged her as she sobbed in pain. The girl had to have been high school age. As witnesses crowded around, my light turned green.

Jeezus, man. That's the second accident I've witnessed this month. THe one previous occurred late one night after Paolo & I had finished our workout at 24 Hour Fitness. We heard screeching and several cars slamming into one another. Two other members also in the parking lot called 911. We ran to the scene. All we could hear was screaming coming from inside the vehicle closest to us. A mother in the backseat was shaking her child to consciousness. We helped them all out of the car. Thank God that both an off duty EMS and lifeguard happened to be driving by.

Especially after seeing The Machinist & hearing Dane Cook's new album, I'm still a little shaken on the the road. Stay safe, everyone. Buckle your safety belts, and look both ways before crossing the street. Also, give your loved ones a big hug for me. On the reals.

On a brighter note...

My parents purchased my graduation gift yesterday, an HP Pavillion dv1000 Special Edition Notebook: Intel Pentium M processor 735, DVD & CD burner. 14 inch wide screen & 100 GB hard drive. It was a sweet Back-To-School deal they had going on. So long, brokeass Toshiba!

Good Bad Foods...
I haven't worked out all week, save for today. To compensate, I ran 20 minutes on the treadmill and did over an hour on the eliptical. ...stupid De La Cruz family runion...

Anyways...off to see 4 Brothers w/ the friends. I haven't seen those fools in a goooood minute.
